Surface coating

Finish: Available in a wide range of standard RAL colours.


Wood

Only water-based wood preservatives has been used for priming. The wood is surface-treated with a water-based, diffusion-open acrylic/alkyd paint approved according to NORDTEST BUILD, NT 229.

Both the primer and the paint used for surface treatment contains fungicides.

Coat thickness front: 60-80 my dry. Coat thickness back: 30-40 my dry. The wood is sanded lightly before the last coat is applied.

Frame and sash components are primed and surface-treated prior to assembly to ensure optimum protection of end grain and dovetails.


Aluminium

The aluminium frame section has been polyester powder-coated following prior chromating, coat thickness 60-120 my, or anodised with a coat thickness of 20 my.

All frame joints are sealed to prevent moisture from ingressing into the sash.

 

GRP

GRP frames and sashes are wet painted before the profiles are put together, so that the ends of GRP profiles are protected by varnish.

GRP profiles are wet painted with a dry layer thickness of 80-100 my.

All frame and sash joints are sealed to prevent moisture and wind penetration.
